Character Education & Moral Values
Our communities, schools and corporations are at risk of sinking under the heavy weight of violence and mistrust. Character building in the workplace is a national movement designed to create businesses that foster ethical, responsible, and caring people by modeling and teaching good character through emphasis on universal values that we all share. It is the intentional, proactive effort by many businesses, small and big, federal, state and local governments to instill in their employees important core, ethical values such as caring, honesty, fairness, responsibility, and respect for self and others, regardless of the cultural backgrounds of the employees.
We use the principals taught by Yan-koloba to remind employees of basic human values, including responsibility, civility, courage, problem-solving skills, equality, and respect. The goal is to encourage employees and corporate leaders to develop civility in their actions, to show self-disciplined and act as responsible citizens.
Character building in organization is the deliberate effort to develop good character based on core virtues that are good for the individual employees, their organization and good for society in general.
